WHO, UNICEF to launch anti-dengue campaign in Peshawar today

PESHAWAR, 18 October: A special campaign to control dengue virus in Peshawar will be launched today by the World Health Organisation (WHO) with the cooperation of the United Nations International Children Emergency Fund (UNICEF).
The anti-dengue teams will carry out fumigation inside and outside houses in 14 affected union councils during the campaign. As many as 491 teams have been formed to carry out the fumigation. They will be provided 16 vehicles in the weeklong campaign.
Fifty-four people have died of dengue fever in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa this year, while over 10,000 others have been affected.
