NOWSHERA, 20 July: Two motorcyclists, including a policeman, were injured when security personnel opened fire on them for not stopping at a security check post in Risalpur area of Nowshera on Wednesday night.

Police said Liaquat Khan, a gunman with a Nowshera district and sessions judge, was travelling on a motorcycle along with his friend Khan Nabi from Risalpur to Nowshera. Constable Noor Hussain signalled the motorcyclists to stop at Risalpur Gate No3, but they did not stop. Security personnel on duty opened fire on the motorcyclists injuring both of them.

The injured were taken to District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.
