PESHAWAR, 1 December: US President-elect Donald Trump has said he would be happy to play role in resolution of issues faced by Pakistan.

According to the state-run radio, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday telephoned Donald Trump and congratulated him on winning the US presidential election. The prime minister expressed wish of holding a meeting with the US president and invited him to visit Pakistan.

Trump said Pakistan is a fantastic country with tremendous opportunities and its people are very intelligent. He said he would love to visit such a lovely country of wonderful people.

The US president-elect also praised the personality and abilities of Nawaz Sharif. He said it seems from the first discussion with Nawaz Sharif that he knows him since long.

Trump assured the prime minister to play role in resolution of issues faced by Pakistan.
