Tribal Jirga discusses law and order in North Waziristan
MIRANSHAH, 10 November: The Pakistan Army and political administration held a Jirga with the local elders at Miranshah Camp in North Waziristan on Wednesday to discuss law and order in the area and problems of people.
General Officer Commanding Major General Sardar Asghar Hassan Hayat said the top priority of the Pakistan Army after conclusion of operation Zarb-e-Azb was to establish peace and complete development projects in the area. He said work on construction of roads, educational and health institutions and tube wells is underway. He assured the local elders that difficulties faced by the people on security check posts will be reduced. He said the local people should also cooperate with the security forces in their efforts to establish durable peace in the region.
The local elders called upon Political Agent Kamran Afridi and security officials to take the local people into confidence over reconstruction of Miranshah Bazaar and all the damaged shops and markets should be reconstructed at their original locations to avoid unnecessary confrontations among the land owners.
The political agent and military officials assured the tribal elders that they grievances will be redressed.
