Three cops injured, school damaged in twin blasts in Peshawar

PESHAWAR, 08 May: Three police personnel sustained injuries and a girls’ primary school was partially damaged in separate bomb explosions in Peshawar here on Monday morning.
According to police, a bomb exploded at the Girls Primary School in Shamshatoo area of Peshawar. As a result of the explosion the school’s gate was damaged, however, no casualty was reported in the explosion, police said. Police further said that another bomb was also recovered from near the school that was defused instantly.
Police said that the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel were on its way after examining the blast site when their convoy was targeted with an improvised explosive device (IED) near Khatko Pul area. Sub Inspector Aitebar Shah, Head Constable Nizar Khan, and Constable Akbar Ali sustained injuries in the explosion. The injured personnel were shifted to hospital for medical treatment.
