Six trainee lady doctors of Mardan Medical Complex suspended over negligence
MARDAN, 26 November: The administration of Mardan Medical Complex has suspended six lady doctors over their negligence which caused death of a pregnant woman.
The hospital administration has also referred the case of a senior lady doctor to the Health Department and recommended action against her. A pregnant woman was brought for delivery from Swabi in the first week of this month, but she died due to negligence of the hospital staff in her treatment.
After protest of the deceased woman’s family, Medical Director Ameer Khan suspended trainee doctors including Farkhanda, Saira, Maria, Uzma, Afshan and Sumera.
On the other hand, the Young Doctors Association (YDA) has declared the suspension of doctors unjustified. The YDA is observing strike from Out Patient Department (OPD) today against the suspension of doctors.
