Registration of non-custom paid vehicles beings in Swat

SWAT, 28 March: The registration process of non-custom paid vehicles has started in Swat.
Mingora Force Commander Brigadier Zafar Iqbal and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Malakand Akhtar Hayat Khan opened the registration process on Monday.
Brigadier Zafar Iqbal said this step was taken keeping in view the difficulties of people. He said it is a pilot project and computerised registration of vehicles in Babuzai tehsil will be carried out in the first phase. He said the registration process in six other tehsils will also be initiated soon. He directed the concerned staff to ensure early completion the process. He said 200 vehicles will be registered in Babuzai on daily basis. Similarly, he said, 1,400 vehicles will be registered in Swat every day and 40,000 vehicles will be registered in one month.
“Relation between a vehicle and its owner is vital and for this purpose we have initiated the registration process which was stalled for the last two years. It will also help in controlling the incidents of terrorism,” he said.
