PM Nawaz holds reception in honor of Pakistan cricket team

ISLAMABAD, 04 July: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday held a grand reception in the honor of Pakistan cricket team that crushed archrival India in ICC Champions Trophy-2017 final to claim the title.
The reception ceremony was held at the Prime Minister House where Federal Ministers and government officials welcomed the victorious national cricket team. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shahryar Khan, Pakistan Super League (PSL) Chairman Najam Sethi, Chief Selector Inzamam Ul Haq and other PCB officials were also alongside the national team. Families of the players were also present on this special occasion. The national cricketers met Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at PM House.
Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif awarded medals to the national cricket team players and team officials and said that the players would also receive Rs10 million each as was announced earlier. He praised the cricket team’s performance in the Champion’s Trophy and said that the cricket players are the real heroes as they brought honour home.
He expressed hope that the cricketers sitting in front of him would go on to make history like their predecessors.
