PESHAWAR, 30 November: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has directed the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) to start work on the construction of schools and hospitals in the Regi Model Township by Jan 15.

The chief minister issued these directives to PDA Director General while chairing a high level meeting and later talking to a delegation of the Save Regi Movement, which called on him at the Chief Minister’s House here on Wednesday.

The Save Regi Movement members led by Ali Akbar Afridi and Amir Khan presented a 21-point demand list to the chief minister and urged the provincial government to kick start construction of primary and high schools, hospitals and approach road between Hayatabad township and Regi Model Town.

The delegation also demanded of the chief minister to transfer possession of plots to the allottees in Zone-2 and Zone-5. They apprised the chief minister that a case about the two zones was pending in a court whereas the elders of the Kokikhel tribe of the adjoining Khyber Agency were not ready to accept the decision.

The Chief Minister Pervez Khattak assured the delegates that he would convene a meeting with MNA Shah Jee Gul Afridi and other elders of the Kokikhel tribe and discuss the matter with them.

Pervez Khattak directed the relevant officials to arrange a meeting with the Corps Commander Peshawar for the construction of an approach road between Hayatabad and Regi Lalma townships.

The chief minister directed DG PDA Muhammad Saleem Wattoo to prepare a summary about the partially completed projects and put up the same in his office as soon as possible.
