Pashtun Long March: Pakhtuns sit-in against Naqibullah murder continues on ninth consecutive day

ISLAMABAD: Tribal youth’s sit-in against extra-judicial murder of 27-year old Naqibullah Mehsud continued on ninth consecutive day in Islamabad.

People from Fata and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa held a long march demanding justice for the murdered Naqib and set up a protest camp in federal capital outside National Press Club.

Pakhtun youth from tribal areas, K-P and other parts of the country started arriving in bulks to join the camps.

They have been demanding arrest of Rao Anwar who killed Naqib in fake encounter, hang him till death after the arrst, clearance of Fata from landmines and production of missing persons before the court.

The PM held a meeting with elders of the sit-in and assured them that their demands would be fulfilled after which the elders asked the youth to call of their strike.

The youth have refused and asked for written assurance from the PM or else they would continue their strike.

The PM had reportedly promised to utilize all available resources for arrest of Rao Anwar, construction of a college that would be named after Naqibullah Mehsud and clearance of landmines from South Waziristan Agency.
