May 07, 2017

KHAR, 07 May: A colorful event was organized on Sunday here in the Jirga Hall of the Civil Colony to commemorate Pashto cultural day.

The event was jointly organized by the Culture Department of Bajaur Agency and Bajaur Culture Association. A number of local singers performed on the occasion and enthralled the audience with their melodious songs.

Apart from local tribal elders, people from different walks of life also attended the event.

Noted literary figures Israr Atal, Muhammad Aslam Salik and others highlighted different aspects of Pakhtun culture and recited their poetry. A local elder Gul Afzal told TNN that he wished that peace prevailed in the area and such programs are organized on regular basis.

“Those who forget their culture and history are vanished. In order to keep our culture alive, we need to hold such types of events regularly to link our new generation with the heritage,” he remarked.
