Mashal’s killing condemned in Bannu

Mashal’s killing condemned in Bannu
April 17, 2017

BANNU, 17 April: To condemn the brutal lynching of Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan (AWKUM) student Mashal Khan, a protest demonstration was held here Monday jointly organized by Peoples Labor Bureau, Pakistan Peoples Party, Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party and Pukhtana Mutaraqi Likwal.

The participants of the protest demonstration chanted slogans against university administration, police and district administration for their failure in providing protecting to a student.

The protesters demanded that the case should be properly probed and all the responsible should be made part of the investigation.

They demanded of the government to take exemplary actions against the people involved in the heinous crime, saying, if the government showed any leniency towards the perpetrators, they would launch a series of protest marches not only in Pakistan but also on international level.

Speaking on the occasion Comrade Salini Shah, Hidayatullah Mundan, Comrade Salim, Prof. Ishaq Wazir and general secretary of Bannu district bar association Bakhat Niaz Khan said that some elements had been trying to remove anti-terrorism sections from the FIR, which is regrettable.

They added that for an expeditious trial of the case, the government should refer it to a military court as the lynching of a student in public is a clear act of terrorism.

They demanded that the case should be properly investigated so that the real culprits behind the crime could be exposed to the public. They added that if justice was not done with the case and facts are concealed, students would get a wrong message and likely to get dishearten.

The speakers asked the government not to conceal the facts and bring the actual situation to the public.
