MINGORA, 24 August: Bilal Khan, a 27-year old man, was killed while a woman sustained serious injuries when the in laws of the lady stoned them for allegedly having illicit relations in Ghari Shamozai area of Swat, said police on Tuesday.

Police said that the couple was stoned by handful of gathering comprising local villagers. The man was stoned to death while the woman was rescued by police in critical condition after they raided the place.

The accused father and brother-in-law of the woman surrendered to police after the incident, police said. The accused reportedly told police that they were compelled to kill the two as the woman and the man were having extramarital relationship.

The woman who got critical injuries was shifted to local hospital, police said and added that the husband of the injured woman was working as laborer abroad.
