KP government announces ‘apps’ competition for young IT professionals

PESHAWAR, 13 February: To encourage young IT professionals for developing new applications and presenting fresh ideas, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced provincial app competition.
Addressing a gathering at Peshawar Press Club the other day, KP minister for Information Technology, Shahram Khan Tarakai said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa youngsters are very talented in the field of IT and they can further excel if proper facilities are provided to them.
He lamented that previous governments did not give proper attention to IT sector and young IT professionals were not encouraged to bring new ideas and develop new applications.
“The present PTI-led provincial government wants to encourage our youth to bring innovation in the market as our youngster are not lacking behind from any one in developing new applications and softwares,” Shahram remarked. He added that the provincial government will provide every possible assistance to them.
It merits a mention here that the KP government has announced to observe 2016 as year of Information Technology.
