JUI-F leader moves PHC against Peshawar bus project
PESHAWAR, 21 October: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl leader Amanullah Haqqani on Saturday moved the Peshawar High Court against Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit project.
The JUI-leader filed a petition here saying that the project would increase problems of people instead of facilitating them.
The petitioner said that so far feasibility report of the project has not been prepared while the government didn’t take transporters, traders and other stakeholder into confidence.
He adopted that the government has taken a hefty loan for the project that would be a burden on the already overburdened tax payers.
The petitioners urged the court to take notice of the project and order halt work on it.
It should be noted that the provincial government inaugurated the project that would be completed at a cost of Rs57 billion while it has taken a loan of Rs40 billion from the Asian Development Bank.
