Health workers boycott anti-polio drive in SWA
WANNA, 29 August: As many as 60 polio workers, who have not been paid their wages, have boycotted anti-polio campaign which started in South Waziristan Agency (SWA) on Monday.
The polio workers and area supervisors said that they have not received their wages for the past one year due to which they were facing severe financial problems.
Meanwhile, Niaz Muhammad Khan, the Assistant Political Agent of Wana held a meeting with the protesting polio workers and assured them of giving their wages by Monday night.
It merits a mention here that a three-day anti-polio drive has been kicked off in FATA and 13 sensitive districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from Monday.
