Governor Model School inaugurated in Miranshah
MIRANSHAH, 2 February: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra on Wednesday inaugurated the newly-constructed Governor Model School in Miranshah, North Waziristan Agency.
During his visit to Miranshah, the governor announced a number of development schemes including establishment of girls section in the Governor Model School, a separate degree college for girls, governor model school in Mir Ali tehsil and establishment of Nawaz Sharif town in Miranshah.
Mr Jhagra also met a Jirga of Utmanzai tribe and told the elders that about 90 percent displaced people have returned to their native areas in North Waziristan. He said the repatriation process of the remaining IDPs will also complete soon. He said reforms in FATA will be carried out according to the wishes of the area people. He said most people in FATA want merger with KP. The local members of the National Assembly, Bannu commissioner, additional chief secretary FATA, General Officer Commanding North Waziristan Major General Sardar Asghar Hassan Hayat, Political Agent Kamran Afridi and other officials of the political administration were also present on the occasion.
The tribal elders demanded the governor to restore electricity and telephone system in North Waziristan. They also demanded quota for the Waziristan students in Razmak Cadet College and allowing the returning displaced people from Afghanistan to bring vehicles with them. The governor assured the Jirga members to resolve their genuine demands.
The governor also inspected the ongoing projects of Miranshah Bazaar, Younis Khan Sports Complex and other development schemes.
