Former KP minister Ziaullah Afridi joins PPP
PESHAWAR, August 29: Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) minister and MPA Ziaullah Afridi on Monday announced to join the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
Ziaullah who served as provincial minister for mines and minerals announced the move after meeting with PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari at Zardari House in Islamabad.
The PPP leader Faisal Karim Kundi and provincial president Humayun Khan were also present at the meeting.
The former minister levelled corruption allegations against Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak and said that he has solid evidence of the corrupt practices of the KP ruling parties, adding that he would soon make them public.
Mr Afridi was removed from the ministry after Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission arrested him on charges of corruption. He was later released on bail by the Peshawar High Court.
Asif Ali Zardari will formally announce joining of Mr Afridi at a press conference today (Tuesday).
Meanwhile, KP Information Minister Shah Farman said Ziaullah Afridi’s joining of the PPP shows his character.
