Families leave their houses amid military operation in central Kurram

SADDA, 2 May: At least 55 families from central Kurram Agency have left their houses and shifted to Sadda, Satin and Mir Baba areas due to imminent military operation in the area.
The administration said the people of Mirzali, Topchian, Dhamami, Sarpati, Dilbaik Sawi and Sterpati areas were directed to shift to safer places before midnight of Monday after which they shifted to houses of their relatives. Security sources said clashes between the security forces and militants are continuing in Mandan, Yakha, Chormi Darra and other areas and gunship helicopters are also targeting hideouts of the militants. They said the local people were asked to leave the area to avoid any damage to them.
The operation was launched after the killing of one soldier and injuries to two others, including a captain, during a clash in Yakhta Killi in central Kurram on Monday.
