PESHAWAR, 18 October: Qabail Youth Movement on Wednesday rejected extending jurisdiction of the Peshawar High Court to Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) and thrown its weight behind Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl’s stance.

Speaking at a press conference here at Peshawar Press Club, press of the movement Ihsanullah said that extension of PHC’s jurisdiction to Fata was an attempt to merge Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He said that Fata Reforms was a political issue which was being cashed in on by some capitalists’ members of National Assembly from tribal areas for their vested interests.

He alleged that MNAs from tribal areas have been promoting a foreign agenda against local values and customs.

Throwing its weight behind JUI-F demand to hold a referendum, he demanded of the federal government to abolish Frontier Crimes Regulation and rehabilitate the displaced people by giving them their constitutional rights.
