Entry of vehicles banned in Parachinar during Muharram
PARACHINAR, 17 October: With the advent of the Islamic holy month of Muharramul Haram, the political administration of Kurram Agency has banned entry of vehicles in Parachinar for security reasons.
Assistant Political Agent Shahid Ali Khan told media persons on Friday that the process of mourning processions in about 400 imambargahs in Kurram Agency has initiated. He said strict security arrangements have been made for these mourning processions to avoid any untoward incident during Muharram.
Mr Shahid said additional security check posts have also been created at three sides of the Parachinar city. He said the Pak-Afghan border will also be sealed from 7 Muharram for security purposes. He said the local people will be allowed to enter the city only after thorough search.
“The entry of vehicles has been banned in Parachinar keeping in view the sensitive nature of the area. The Pak-Afghan border will also be sealed from 7 Muharram,” the APA told TNN.
He hoped that with all these security measures the month of Muharram will pass peacefully.
