ECP bars Imran Khan from addressing public rally in NA-4
PESHAWAR, 11 October: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has barred the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan from addressing a public rally in NA-4 constituency of Peshawar on 13 October, as it will a violation of the election code of conduct.
The provincial Election Commission said in a statement that the district returning officer has sent a communique to the deputy commissioner to stop Imran Khan from addressing public gathering in NA-4. The returning officer while seeking report from the deputy commissioner said public rallies have been banned in NA-4 before the upcoming by-election on 26 October. It said all the candidates have been informed in this regard.
The NA-4 seat fell vacant after the death of PTI MNA Gulzar Khan.
