Drugs, arms recovered from Islamia College University professor’s car in Peshawar

PESHAWAR, 13 June: An assistant professor of the Islamia College University in Peshawar was arrested on Tuesday after police recovered drugs and weapons from his car.
According to Regi Model Town police, drugs and arms were recovered from the car of assistant professor Bashir Ahmed during search of the vehicle in the jurisdiction of Regi Model Town police station.
Police said they had asked Bashir, a professor at Islamia College Peshawar, to pull over at the Regi Model Town check post. Police said that 20 grams of ‘ice’ and another 150g of hashish were recovered after searching the vehicle.
Police said that the professor was reluctant allow search of the vehicle and showed resistance. Two pistols were also recovered from Bashir’s car, police added.
SSP Operations confirmed the incident and said that further investigations were underway in this regard to determine where did the drugs were intended to be smuggled.
