DPO Mardan suspends nine policemen for poor performance
MARDAN, 8 November: District police officer Mardan police on Wednesday suspended staff of Hathian police chowki for failure to contain sale of narcotics in the area under its jurisdiction.
According to statement, the street crimes and narcotics sale were on the rise while the police deployed at the chowki despite several warnings were unable to take action against the perpetrators.
Those who have been suspended include inspector Idrees Khan, Hawaldar Saeedullah and Akbar Hussain and six constables.
The spokesperson said that an inquiry was also ordered against them. It merits a mention here that unidentified men had gunned down two policemen two days ago few days back who performing duty on the same checkpoint.
The policemen, in their statements, claimed that the assailants were local criminals.
