PESHAWAR, 14 February: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that Daesh (Arabic short name of ISIS) has no base in Pakistan, however, some other militants’ organizations have been using the name to carryout saboteur activities.
Talking to media men in Rawalpindi the other day Chaudhry Nisar said Daesh (ISIS) is an Arab-based organization and is mostly operative in some Gulf and African states.
“A specific group has been using its name and spreading undue terror among the people,” Nisar said.
It merits a mention here that Intelligence Bureau (IB) director general Aftab Sultan has admitted before a Senate standing committee that ISIS network existed in Pakistan however, its strength has been limited due to effective and timely actions.
