PESHAWAR, 24 January: A book written by renowned literary figure, late Qazi Abdul Haleem Asar on history of Bajaur was launched in a ceremony held at Government High School Khar. Large number of poets, authors, civil society members and locals attended the ceremony.
The speakers while addressing on the occasion lauded the efforts of Mufti Bilal Yasir and Malik Shah Wali Khan for publishing Qazi Abdul Haleem Asar’s book ‘Bajaur’. They said that the book ‘Bajaur’ was written 50 years earlier but was not published. Speakers said that the book contain precious information about history of Bajaur and people could take benefit from these information to learn Bajaur history.
While talking to TNN, Mufti Bilal Yasir stressed the need to promote literary activities in the agency and urged the government to take necessary steps in this regard. “A person laughed at me that Bajaur has historical people but the agency history is seen nowhere. After that I started struggle to publish a book on history of Bajaur and today we succeeded in publishing a valuable book on history of the agency titled ‘Bajaur’,” Mufti Bilal told TNN. He said that literacy activities would promote a message of peace and indirectly boost socio-economic conditions of people. He urged the government to take steps for promotion of literary activities in the agency as it would help augmenting existing social fabric of the tribal society.
