  • 153 government school teachers suspended in SWA over absenteeism As many as 153 school teachers have been suspended for not performing duties in South Waziristan agency, a statement issued from the office of Agency Education Officer said here on Friday. The statement added that these teachers remained absent from their schools for long. It further said that the Education department had deducted about two million rupees from the salaries of teachers who had not been performing duties regularly during the last six months. BISP likely to increase monthly stipend for beneficiaries

ISLAMABAD, 08 May: The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) is expected to increase the monthly stipend for the beneficiaries.
According to reports, the monthly stipend Rs 1600 (quarterly 4800) will be increased to Rs 1833 (quarterly 5500) in next fiscal year budget.
According to sources, the recommendation has been finalized in this regard which will be forward to Finance Minister Ishaq Dar for approval.
