7 policemen suspended in Abbottabad over torturing SHO
ABBOTTABAD: 7 November: District Police Officer (DPO) Abbottabad Syed Ashfaq Anwar has suspended seven policemen over charges of torturing a station house officer (SHO).
Police said some policemen in plain clothes were resorting to aerial firing in the wedding of Umair, a gunman of the deputy superintendent of police (DSP), two days ago when the SHO of Nawakhar Police Station reached there and forbade the policemen from aerial firing. However, the policemen refused to stop aerial firing and also tortured the SHO.
The DPO took notice of the incident and suspended policemen Dildar, Umar, Mateen, Waqas, Fahad, Saad and Umar Nawaz nominated in the case. The DPO also ordered further departmental action against the policemen involved in torturing the SHO.
