37 people issued licenses for sale of stamp papers: ADC Peshawar
PESHAWAR, 13 April: District Administration Peshawar has imposed ban on the sale of stamp papers for one month due to which people are facing the shortage of the papers in the provincial metropolitan.
Sources in the administration said that Deputy Commissioner Riaz Mehsud collected all the stamp papers from the entire district after receiving complaints about the illegal sale of stamp papers in the city.
The sources added that sale of the stamp papers would be banned till the completion of investigation and issuance of new license to the sellers of stamp papers.
During a meeting with the office bearers of District Bar Association, Additional Deputy Commissioner Peshawar said that 37 people have been issued new licenses while seven more people would be issued the licenses in the next two days after which they would be provided with stamp papers.
He further said that licenses of 15 people have been cancelled due to illegal sale of the stamp papers.
Meanwhile, people coming to courts are facing severe difficulties due to the unavailability of stamp papers. They told TNN that some people sell the stamp papers in black with much higher prices.
