ANP to hold all parties conference on FATA reforms on 14 September
NOWSHERA, 10 September: The Awami National Party (ANP) has decided to call an all parties conference over FATA reforms on 14 September.
The ANP central general secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain said while addressing a public gathering in Nowshera on Saturday that interest shown by the federal government in FATA is a very encouraging development. He said it is expected that a crucial decision about the future of FATA will be taken soon.
Mian Iftikhar said the ANP has called an all parties conference on 14 September to discuss requirements for the reforms and the issue of census results for FATA.
Meanwhile, the Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) chairman Aftab Ahmed Khan said while addressing a public meeting in Charsadda that the government should take its allies and all stakeholders into confidence on the issue of FATA reforms and devise a strategy for its quick implementation.
Mr Sherpao said anyone who has reservations over merger of FATA with KP must come forward and present his arguments.
